The Graphica Installation Team Attention to detail is everything! Talking to the SOS designer

Graphica Display appear on DIY SOS!

We were all very excited to see one of our installation teams working away on national television last week when we appeared on
the popular BBC show, DIY SOS!

The programme was set in the home of the Ceri family of South Wales. Due to a series of bad luck including redundancy and illness, the family had not managed to finish thier kitchen extension and the house had been left virtually unihabitable.

DIY SOS asked us to produce and install a graphic wall for use in the family's chill out room featuring a theatre backdrop and we hear the family were thrilled with the results!

We have been producing and installing graphic walls in various forms for many years now.
To see some examples of our graphic walls please click here. They are ideal in domestic environments to create a unique feature wall or in commercial premises following the corporate identity or brand style.

We really enjoyed being part of the DIY SOS show and helping to create a beautifully unique and personnal home for the very deserving Ceris family. We hope they enjoy the space for years to come!

Brand New Product: Fabric Face Lightboxes!

We have launched a new range of fabric face lightboxes that are ideal for retail situations as the graphic can be easily changed on site. We can supply various off the shelf options or produce a bespoke solution to meet your specific requirements.

There are two options available: The LED Fabric Face lightbox, which is only 40mm deep and uses LED lights to create an evenly spread light that burns cold. This option can be made up to 3 meters wide x any length.

The second option, the Flouro Fabric Face lightbox uses flourescent tubes which results in a deeper lightbox but is a cheaper option. It can made up to an impressive 5 meters high x any length.

Both options can be recessed into the wall, as shown in the images left. They can also be fitted using batons or in some cases they can even be freestanding.

We also had a series of samples featuring the British design icon that is the Mini Cooper. These included edge lit perspex, cut vinyl and probably the most popular: printed steel.

colourful vinyl manifestation hanging banners cut vinyl

West Hill Primary School

We recently completed the first of a run of educational graphic fits, starting with Westhill Primary School in Wandsworth, South West London. The job included textile banners, cut perspex, vinyl graphics and colourful manifestation, and the finished result was a vibrant and energetic learning space.

It was an exciting project to work on for all involved and great to see such a vast improvement which could only have a positive infulence on the children's capacity for learning and creativity.

Graphica Display were proud to work with DEGW Architects and Mitie Interiors on this project.

Was Hestor Blumenthal influenced by Graphica Display?!!

Hestor Blumenthal's recent make-over of Little Chef (below) included a sky-photo ceiling as the CEO was always talking about "blue sky thinking".

Maybe he took inspiration from one of our works? The Blue Sky Ceiling Graphic installed at Momentum Pictures in Soho. This is just one of the dozens of graphic ceilings, large format images and graphic walls we've done for clients in recent months.

Launch of the Skycar Expedition - Graphica Display provides Vehicle Graphics

Below are a few shots taken yesterday at the launch of the Skycar Expedition. The Expedition is a radical journey from London to Timbuktu in a flying car, powered 100% by bio-fuels. Graphica Display provided the graphics for the vehicles including the Skycar itself, the support truck and the motorcycles that will accompany the televised expedition across the Sahara to Mali. Neil Laughton settles in for the start of his 4,000 mile journey.

Note our sponsor logo for providing the vehicle exterior graphics that will have to withstand temperatures of over 40 degrees C, and blasting by Sahara sandstorms!

Bottom image: Project Manager Rob Hill stands proudly by the huge support truck that will ferry camera gear and essential supplies for the voyage. At ground level the large format graphics will take even more of a battering.

C Net: Case Study

Brief

Graphica Display were approached by CNet's design team to produce the office branding for the firm's central London head offices.

Solution

1. A bespoke lightbox was manufactured and installed in the stair well/reception area creating a dramatic and memorable effect. To ensure the best possible finish, flex face graphics were used in the lightbox defusing and balancing the light and ensuring that individual strip lights can not be seen. The lightbox graphics were supplied by the interior design team and artworked by Graphica Display making the process as efficient and accurate as possible.

2. Branded wayfinding / signage was constructed from 10mm perspex sheets with printed vinyl floor plan applied to the back. 20mm brushed chrome stand-offs were used to hang the floor plan giving a minimalist, clean finish.

3. Plot cut vinyl lettering in matt grey attached to pillars to label departments, the brand's signature colours and font were used to maintain brand consistency.

4. The CNet logo was cut from 3mm thick fret cut brushed stainless steel with 20mm blind locator fittings, and placed inside the entrance giving visitors a smart first impresion. The logo has also been enlarged and cut as a stencil, our installers then painted through with a satin varnish to subtly change the paint colour.

5. The main office signage on the front of the offices was manufactured using10m laser cut perspex with a polished edge.

6. Another bespoke, built in light box integrill to the wall show casing CNet's clients created a stunning effect in the entrance. The lightbox has front face access allowing easy maintenance.

Result

The work carried out in the CNet offices has created a consistant standard of branding throughout. By using the best materials Create Canvas has ensured a long lasting and easily maintained set of graphics for these offices. CNet now stand out from their competition with premises that are both impressive, in line with brand and that help motivate staff.
